How did you start bellydancing?
I became fascinated by bellydance as a result of countless business trips to Cairo and the UAE.
After trying out a few introductory bellydance classes locally, I came across the website of someone who would be officially known as MY FIRST BELLYDANCE TEACHER! That person was Natalie Borg, after which I did not look back. I was immersed in bellydance and stretched creatively, even dancing at Natalie's London bellydance showcase Arabesque Nights.
Your Top 3 highlights of your dance journey to date?
Bellydance holiday to Cairo in 2019 although I came home exhilarated and exhausted, everything about Egyptian culture, music and bellydance made sense after that epic trip.
Dancing on stage to live music at the 'Arab Quarterly' and 'London Live' in 2019.
Meeting my first bellydance teacher (Natalie Borg) at a weekly beginner’s bellydance lesson taught by Natalie in South West London in 2009. It was where I also met my bellydance sisters Sam, Martine, Tricia and Beata

What inspires you to keep dancing?
The amazing women I've met in my dance journey who are dancing into their 70s and 80s
3 dancers (past or present) that inspire you and why
Fifi Abdo - nuff said!
Farah Nasri - a dancer who has her own inimitable style
Yasmina of Cairo - Yasmina was introduced to me by my first bellydance teacher Natalie. Yasmina is an elegant dancer and a great teacher.
Share a Top Tip for new or existing bellydancers
I would encourage beginners to develop your own dance style and personality by going to different bellydance workshops.
